Secrets to Writing Killer Songs gives a look inside the process of song creation. Troy Stetina and co-author/vocalist Shauna Joyce lay out the inner sequence of events in the creation of their 1992 CD, Set the World on Fire which is included. Part One is a "no rules" approach to get you started writing and refining your own songs. Part Two features detailed form charts and analysis of the compositional ideas hiding within the demonstration songs. The style is basically melodic hard rock, leaning toward metal and progressive at times. However, the practical songwriting tips are equally valid for any style accross the rock/metal spectrum.
